Had my semi-annual visit to Sloan and meeting with the lymphoma guru, Dr. Zelenetz. Everything was fine, including the CAT scan.
So, after eight years (last chemo was the "high dose" stuff in January, 2006 – hard to believe it's that long ago) I'm now going from semi-annual visits and an annual CAT scan, to annual visits with Zelenetz, and a CAT scan every two years. Kind of a graduation.
Also, I weighed exactly 160 lbs. which means I've lost 12-13 lbs in a year. Happy about that. Would love to loss another 4-5.
Interestingly, when I speak to physicians non-professionally, many of them seem surprised (or perhaps they're just glad) that I'm eight years post chemo/autologous stem cell transplant for my particular lymphoma (mantle cell) and seem fine. Maybe they don't know that much about that lymphoma, maybe I'm just lucky – hard to say!
