This past Thursday, the Stepinac varsity was put through some marine training paces by – marines. The training session was actually covered by cable news, channel 12. It was about a ninety minute part of the all day football practice (it’s now pre-season!), done at the beginning of the day. I watched a good part of it and took some pictures with my LG phone. I’m not used to videoing with the phone, so only a passable video at the bottom.
Semper Fi!

Among other events, there was an endurance course set up, with each boy going down and back
twice, while crawling, carrying, etc. It took Tim 2 minutes 13 seconds.
Part of the course, with a couple of players – a crawl and a run –

Here’s Tim being carried by his partner on the course – a “fireman’s carry” – as part of the endurance workout –

So here’s the last 40 seconds or so of another “event” – a two minute set, where the players are pressing a 35lb ammo can over their head. The idea is to do as many reps as possible. Tim (he’s wearing dark sleeveless top, dark shorts and dark socks – you can see him) did 144 reps, which he told me was second on the team (first was 168!).
The whole session was very well received by the team!
