As noted here, yesterday was my birthday, as I exited my 50’s. (I used to say “always subtract seven years.” Alas, I can no longer get away with that).
The day started with this layout on the kitchen table – and it requires some explanation.

Here’s a close up of the center picture –

So here’s the story. A couple of months ago AMC started playing the old “Rifleman” series on Saturday mornings. If you are old mature enough you’ll remember the series “starring Chuck Connors” from the late 50’s, early 60’s. It had great ratings and a five year run. Very popular in the Faranda household at the time, and I recall I did have a “Rifleman” rifle. It had the big mechanism for cocking it…
So I started DVR’ing it and then Brigid decided she really liked it to. My scheming wifey started looking around the internet and collected all the above pictures, including the one saying, “Tom, all my best, Chuck Connors.” Proving – you can find anything on the internet …
Here are some pictures from the rest of the day
Tim got these matching t-shirts for the two of us. Tim will, of course, have both of them

Beside being treated to lunch by my friend and business associate Judy Anderson and her son Mike (but no pictures – rats), Brigid took us all out to Justin Thyme for dinner.
Could be a Guinness commercial –

Back to the ranch for dessert

Serious birthday. Makes you think. But great day.
