After leading his team to a World Series championship, Girardi and his family were returning home to Purchase when he came upon the accident along an eastbound blind curve where the road meets the Hutchinson River Parkway. The media seems to be having a field day with this story. The NY Post headline stated that the “hero” Joe Girardi “saved” the woman in this accident. The victim in the crash was not seriously injured and declined any medical attention according to the article. Mr. Girardi did nothing more that you or I would have done in the same situation. What would one expect? Would most people have just driven on by?
Without minimizing Joe’s accomplishments this year, let’s save the title “hero” for those persons and situations that really deserve it!
