Brigid Birthday and Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe

First Our Lady of Guadalupe – For Catholics an extraordinarily important apparition of Mary in 1531 in Mexico. How important? Prior to 1531 if there was a drought the Aztecs would sacrifice children to end the drought. In 1544 there was a terrible drought and the indigenous people organized a procession of children to the image. The Shrine Basilica in Mexico City is the most visited Catholic shrine in the world.

So… a big birthday (aren’t they all?) for Brigid and here are some of my favorite pictures, all of which I’ve posted in the past.
