He had an eclectic group of men and women he&#39;d interviewed, sometimes one off interviews, and other times he&#39;d have a regular (like Senators John McCain or John Kerry) on.&#0160;<\/p>\n<p>He was a philanthropist &#8211; he raised or gave over $40 million to charities, mostly to benefit disadvantaged children. <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Imus_Ranch\">The Imus Ranch<\/a> which gave children with cancer a cowboy experience,<a href=\"https:\/\/www.santafenewmexican.com\/news\/local_news\/imus-ranch-sold-to-nebraska-tv-mogul\/article_c70fe69d-7538-572d-b2d0-301e3286dc8d.html\"> was sold in April, 2018.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Considering the way Imus abused his body in his younger days, it&#39;s kind of a wonder he made it to 79.<\/p>\n<p>&#0160;<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen=\"\" frameborder=\"0\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/GcrN940m3RM\" width=\"480\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>UPDATE: Here&#39;s a pretty good obit about his life.
