I spend so much time reading stuff for work as well as newspaper and magazine articles (most of it opinionated drivel unfortunately)  as well as stuff people email me (I always<\/span> open anything sent to me by anyone I know) that in the last several years I'd gotten into the sad habit of not reading books! I used to read a book a week – or close to that anyway. But that was years ago. So I determined to get back into the habit of at least some serious reading. I reckoned one a month would be a good goal for 2018.<\/p>\n

So, while I did read some excellent books, I didn't hit my goal. Here's what I did read with links to the reviews of those I posted.<\/p>\n

Recent Read: "The Coddling of the American Mind"<\/a><\/p>\n

Past read: "Chasing Hillary"<\/a><\/p>\n

12 Rules for Life, an Antidote to Chaos<\/a><\/p>\n

Latest Read: "Bad Blood" about the great Theranos\/Elizabeth Holmes fraud<\/a><\/p>\n

Read earlier this year – Pope Francis: "Rejoice and Be Glad"<\/a><\/p>\n

I also read this very good, short book but one which I didn't review: ThomasAquinas in 50 Pages<\/a> which was a good review or introduction to Aquinas and took about an hour or so to read. I really should have reviewed it. It's written by a former Episcopalian priest who converted to RC.<\/p>\n

So six good books, all highly recommended by myself.<\/p>\n

Then there's this book which I started to read but stopped about 30% through it, since I already knew what he was writing. The True Story of Fake News: How Mainstream Media Manipulates Millions<\/a>. The author is Mark Dice a conservative blogger and pot-stirrer with a large following.<\/p>\n

Lastly no sense reviewing this book which I recently got; it's a quick read. Reasons to Vote for Democrats: A Comprehensive Guide<\/a> As the reviewer on the front cover writes, "Thorough".<\/p>\n

Anyway, I am determined to do more than a dozen books in 2019, and will review all of them.<\/p>\n
