Read this ranking as a map of reputation and social tone, not as proof that kindness disappears from one state to the next.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"237\" height=\"213\" src=\"https:\/\/tomfarandasfolly.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/florida-map.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-15981\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Florida rounded out Clever\u2019s top five, yet the same 2024 study also ranked it <a href=\"https:\/\/listwithclever.com\/research\/best-places-to-live-in-the-us\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">fifth for nicest residents and first for desirability<\/a>. That split captures the state well. It sells sun, escape, and easy living, but some of its busiest places project a much rougher social mood once people are actually there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>City data helps explain why. <a href=\"https:\/\/preply.com\/en\/blog\/rudest-cities-2024\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Preply\u2019s 2024 survey put Miami first and Tampa third among the rudest cities in America<\/a>, while YouGov\u2019s state polling found that <a href=\"https:\/\/yougov.com\/en-us\/articles\/33881-most-rude-polite-states-poll\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Florida was the one Southern state where residents were more likely to call their own state rude than polite<\/a>. In high heat, heavy traffic, crowded restaurants, and tourist-packed entertainment zones, behaviors like loudness, impatience, and low situational awareness become much harder to ignore. Plenty of travelers still love Florida, but it is also one of the clearest examples of a place where vacation marketing and on-the-ground social tone do not always line up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Haha.
