The SSPX is a fringe breakaway group from the Catholic Church which officially went into schism when they took it on themselves to ordain 4 Bishops. I think it’s safe to call them fringe – their own directory lists eight Churches or Chapels in NY State (There are 1,644 Catholic parishes in the state). No doubt the vast majority of SSPX followers are sincere in their beliefs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
