After all she&#39;s pretty effective as the President&#39;s press secretary.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"asset-img-link\" href=\"http:\/\/tomfaranda.typepad.com\/.a\/6a00d834525a2f69e201bb09d3df26970d-pi\" style=\"display: inline;\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Sarah-Sanders-Press-Secretary-e1509733305671\" class=\"asset  asset-image at-xid-6a00d834525a2f69e201bb09d3df26970d img-responsive\" src=\"https:\/\/tomfaranda.typepad.com\/.a\/6a00d834525a2f69e201bb09d3df26970d-200wi\" style=\"width: 160px;\" title=\"Sarah-Sanders-Press-Secretary-e1509733305671\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2017\/11\/03\/liberal-columnists-attack-sarah-sanders-for-her-weight-southern-accent\/\">Two male, liberal columnists this week launched personal attacks against White House press secretary Sarah Sanders.<\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Los Angeles Times columnist David Horsey mocked Sanders\u2019 appearance, saying she \u201clooks more like a slightly chunky soccer mom who organizes snacks for the kids\u2019 games.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">******<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Another columnist, the New York Times\u2019 Frank Bruni, similarly went out of his way on Friday to bash Sanders for her personal characteristics, in this case her way of speaking.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Bruni <a href=\"https:\/\/mobile.nytimes.com\/2017\/11\/03\/opinion\/sunday\/sarah-huckabee-sanders-kelly.html\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">wrote<\/a> that Sanders is&#0160;\u201cserving a function other than communication, which turns out not to be her forte.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u201cTo listen to her pronounce \u2018priorities\u2019 is akin to hearing the air seep out of a flat tire, and she leaves half of the consonants on the curb,\u201d Bruni added parenthetically, mocking Sanders for her Southern accent.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Horsey apologized for his description of Sanders in an update to his column &#8230; \u201cI want to apologize to Times readers \u2014 and to Sarah Huckabee Sanders \u2014 for a description that was insensitive and failed to meet the standards of our newspaper. It also failed to meet the expectations I have for myself. It surely won\u2019t be my last mistake, but this particular error will be scrupulously avoided in my future commentaries.
