Regina had a poem published in the online ezine Kids Imagination Train<\/a> – the July\/August issue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s great and here it is –<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

                                                                                                                  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

                                                             A Squirrel\u2019s Lucky Day                      <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

                                                                                   <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I live in trees  <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

and on the ground.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I hunt for food<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

and race around.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

 <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We squirrels enjoy<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

the great outdoors,<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We have big nests<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

and nutty chores.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

 <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The park is full<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

this time of year<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

with lots of picnics –<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Spring is here.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

 <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I hope to find<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

some tasty scraps<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

like cheesy chicken<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

sandwich wraps.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

 <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A baseball game<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

has just begun.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kids hurry off<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

to join the fun.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

 <\/p>\n\n\n\n

But wait! What\u2019s that<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

beside the tree?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

An ice cream cone<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

left just for me?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

 <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hurry!  Scurry!<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Down the branches!<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Creatures don\u2019t get<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

too many chances.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

 <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Grab it!<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Take it up the tree.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Phew! I made it.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yeah!  Yippee!<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

 <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This treat is heaven,<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

cold and sweet.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Even acorns<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

cannot compete.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

 <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why do people<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

stare at me?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Can\u2019t a squirrel<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

have privacy?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

 <\/p>\n\n\n\n

So Mother Nature<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

will you please<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

make ice cream cones<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n
