The record follows increased participation in Catholic life at Harvard, including growing Mass attendance and dozens more entering formation. In a statement to Zeale News, the chaplain for the school\u2019s Catholic center attributed the increase to the grace of God.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A record 85 people entered the Catholic Church this spring through the Harvard Catholic Center at St. Paul\u2019s Catholic Church in Cambridge, Massachusetts, including 45 Harvard students, faculty members, and other university affiliates, The National News Desk<\/em> reported<\/u><\/a> Aug. 25.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Father Nathaniel Sanders, Harvard\u2019s undergraduate chaplain, said those entering the Church included former evangelical Protestants, young adults raised in culturally Catholic homes, and others without a church background, according to the outlet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In an Aug. 28 statement to Zeale News, Father Sanders said the record is part of a years-long growing interest in the Catholic faith on Harvard\u2019s campus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe have seen tremendous growth in the number of people interested in becoming Catholic or finishing their Sacramental initiation,\u201d he told Zeale News. \u201cWhile the past year was double our previous class, there has been a steady increase over the past 10 years.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
