At some point we thought, \u201cWow, what\u2019s going on here?\u201d Maybe we didn\u2019t design a new pocket knife, maybe we designed something that\u2019s in an entirely new <a href=\"https:\/\/www.leatherman.com\/multi-tools\" target=\"_blank\">product category<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>****<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Tell us what the immediate future at Leatherman will bring, and then any hints on a five-year outlook or plan.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We always have a three-year revolving \u201cnew product introduction plan.\u201d Three years out we have an idea for a new concept, then two years out we have an idea for an actual product, and then one year out we\u2019re working with metal to create prototypes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>My basic philosophy is that we\u2019re in the business of helping people with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.leatherman.com\/preparedness\" target=\"_blank\">preparedness<\/a>. Our five-year plan is to continue to evolve as demands for preparedness evolves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Let\u2019s say that in the future, a screwdriver isn\u2019t the tool you need to fix kids\u2019 toys anymore. In that case,&nbsp;a Leatherman will need to have the&nbsp;relevant tool(s) for the&nbsp;job.
