Metastatic cancer. He was 81. His wake is tonight 6-9PM and funeral tomorrow at Holy Name of Mary, 10AM in Croton.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What a great person. To quote a mutual friend &#8211; Sister Lucy Marie of the Sisters of Life &#8211; &#8220;Such a great hero interceding for us \u2013 such a dear and kind man.&#8221; She got it exactly right.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rich&#8217;s obituary is here &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/obits.dignitymemorial.com\/dignity-memorial\/obituary.aspx?n=Richard-Fuerst&amp;lc=7336&amp;pid=172784845&amp;mid=6154872\" target=\"_self\" title=\"\"> In Memory of Richard L. Fuerst June 17, 1933 &#8211; October 11, 2014<\/a> , and contains an extensive photo gallery if you&#8217;d care to peruse it. Rich had eight children.
