It&#39;s off the Dail Beast website so If you read the comments, you will be treated to some <span style=\"text-decoration: line-through;\">idiotically stupid<\/span> reader remarks.&#0160;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.thedailybeast.com\/articles\/2013\/12\/01\/amazing-grace-in-the-bronx-inside-the-metro-north-train-wreck-rescue.html\" target=\"_self\" title=\"\">\u201cIt\u2019s very hard to ask a civilian who was just involved in an accident to help us,\u201d Ellson would recall. \u201cThey had just been involved in a very bad train accident, and now I\u2019m saying, \u2018I need your help, I need you to help people who are in worse shape.\u2019 I asked everybody, \u2018Listen, look at the people next to you, and if they need help, help them.\u2019 And they did it.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#0160;<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">The response was all the more remarkable because of what all these people had just been through as the cars violently flipped onto one side, righted, then flipped onto the other side. The people on the higher side had been tossed onto those on the lower, and then all of them had been thrown back the other way in a jumble.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u201cYou\u2019d think people would want to just get out and run as far as they could, but people were very good,\u201d Ellson said afterward. \u201cIt is amazing.
