Ned Murphy, SJ"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>At the Pax Christi Stations of the Cross this morning in New York it was announced that Fr. Ned had died last night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I knew Ned Murphy from years ago when we were raising funds for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.potsbronx.org\/\" target=\"_self\">POTS<\/a> (Part of the Solution) in the Bronx. A co-founder of POTS he was a wonderful speaker and homilist and in 1971 he was part of the <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/The_Camden_28\" target=\"_self\">Camden 28<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Twelve or more years ago Ned was diagnosed with lung cancer, and given a very bad prognosis. He had treatment and then the cancer completely disappeared (those Jesuits!). He was born in 1937.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The last time I saw Fr. Ned was at the Pax Christi stations on Good Friday two years ago.
