Yesterday I had my six month check-up at Sloan Kettering with Dr. Zelenetz<\/a>. I didn't have a CAT scan, since I only have one\/yr. now. <\/p>\n

Had no issues – blood work was fine, BP 111\/68 and I weighed 164.7 lbs with my pants on.  That's up from the 151 I weighed when I left Sloan in January, '06 after my high dose chemo and autologous stem cell transplant. RATS<\/span><\/strong> – the one good thing about the whole chemo deal (besides it supressed\/destroyed my cancer) was my weight went down to almost my rugby-playing weight. <\/p>\n

I have actually lost about 4 pounds recently. Tim and I are having a competition to see who gets to 160 first.   <\/p>\n

We briefly discussed newer treatments for mantle cell and Dr. Z. mentioned several new medicines. I also reminded him that the last time we'd met<\/a> in January, he'd mentioned that he'd recently co-written a paper saying that for some people who'd had my therapy, it was probably curative. (All along, he has told me that mantle cell recurs.)<\/p>\n

Evidently it has to do with people who had 30% or less of their cancer cells active (he didn't use the term active – can't remember the actual term! – but that's what I believe it meant). So, naturally I asked him my percent. When he went to the computer he said that they didn't have that data for everyone, and when he found me in the database, indeed, I had incomplete data. He said the pathology slides just weren't good enough at that time to make the determination. <\/p>\n
