Brigid got back late Tuesday night from ND. The Tuesday morning arraignment took only minutes; the judge called her up, she pled “not guilty” and that was it. The trials begin in mid-September with Brigid and the rest of the “South Bend Five” (the five NY area criminals) scheduled for September 29th.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now, quite candidly, the President of Notre Dame, Fr. Jenkins, must be a complete jerk. Plenty of knowledge, but no wisdom. What’s done in 99% of these civil disobedience cases, is that the charges are dismissed after the incident is over. And the “Fighting Irish” could easily tell the prosecutors to drop the charges. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

So this could go on for quite a while – as the defense sues for civil rights violations. Could very well happen.
