Still don&#8217;t undersand why they call it an autologous stem cell <u>transplant<\/u>, when I&#8217;m only getting back <u>my own stem cells<\/u>, but they do. Here&#8217;s the posting I put up that night,<a href=\"http:\/\/tomfaranda.typepad.com\/folly\/2006\/01\/transplant_went.html\"><strong>Tom Faranda&#8217;s Folly: Transplant went well<\/strong><\/a> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And here&#8217;s a picture. With hindsight, I don&#8217;t exactly look my best. The guy on the left is a resident, doing the infusion (done in the hospital room), and a nurse practitioner is on the right. The whole thing only took about thirty minutes, from unfreezing the cells to injecting them. Of course then I had a big nap, since I&#8217;d been given a mild sedative. Brigid made some joke about how nice it was to be in the room for a couple of hours with me, but it being very quiet.
