They may decide to keep me until Sunday, give me a platelet transfusion and then release me. One of the nurses said this approach is fairly common \u2013 the idea is to send you home with a \u201cfull tank\u201d.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt\"><span style=\"FONT-SIZE: 12pt; mso-bidi-font-size: 10.0pt\"><\/span><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt\"><span style=\"FONT-SIZE: 12pt; mso-bidi-font-size: 10.0pt\"><span face=\"Times New Roman\">My white blood cell count was 2.8 this morning, up from 0.6, so as expected it is rising rapidly (normal is 4-11).<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes\">&nbsp; <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt\"><span style=\"FONT-SIZE: 12pt; mso-bidi-font-size: 10.0pt\"><\/span><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt\"><span style=\"FONT-SIZE: 12pt; mso-bidi-font-size: 10.0pt\"><span face=\"Times New Roman\">Brigid and I spoke again to a nutritionist here, who went over diet and food preparation for \u201cneutropenic\u201d people (those with a compromised immune system). We will have to keep with the changes for about two months. They are things like, avoid deli foods, peel all fruit, even after washing it, don\u2019t use your pepper shaker at home (didn\u2019t know that pepper is full of bacteria), stuff like that.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt\"><span style=\"FONT-SIZE: 12pt; mso-bidi-font-size: 10.0pt\"><\/span><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt\"><span style=\"FONT-SIZE: 12pt; mso-bidi-font-size: 10.0pt\"><span face=\"Times New Roman\">I have started eating more. Mouth sores are almost completely gone. The nutritionist said that because I\u2019ve eaten so little in the past ten days, it would take my body awhile to adjust to anything but small meals.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt\"><span style=\"FONT-SIZE: 12pt; mso-bidi-font-size: 10.0pt\"><\/span><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt\"><span style=\"FONT-SIZE: 12pt; mso-bidi-font-size: 10.0pt\"><span face=\"Times New Roman\">So almost at the end of a long haul that started in September.
