A couple of little developments today. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

While my white cell count has not really started up as of this morning\u2019s<\/u> 5 AM blood test \u2013 it was 0.1 \u2013 my red blood cells and hemoglobin numbers had improved after the transfusions of whole blood and platelets yesterday. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

And as the today went on, I realized that my mouth and throat sores were a little bit better, indicating that my white cell count may be going up, and they are fighting the foreign invaders in my mouth. Tomorrow is day 10 post transplant, the day when the white cell count typically shows an improvement, so I am betting that the blood test tomorrow morning <\/u>will show that my white cell count has started up.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. K., my transplant Doc, came around about lunchtime and we discussed my discharge. It looks like Sunday is a real possibility, assuming the cell levels rise as expected, and no negative issues arise. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I had a visit this morning from my friend Tom Crowley, who was in New York for a business meeting. I played rugby with Tom in the 70\u2019s for Essex, and he was a big hitting center. He was one of the founders of Essex, along with Bill Connolly (see post from a few days ago about Bill).<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tom is still an extremely fit guy, and in the picture below, you can tell he\u2019s got a big grin on under the mask!<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n
