{"id":565,"date":"2023-08-14T04:05:00","date_gmt":"2023-08-14T04:05:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tomfarandasfolly.com\/?p=565"},"modified":"2025-09-28T04:34:16","modified_gmt":"2025-09-28T04:34:16","slug":"adirondack-camping-thelast-four-days","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tomfarandasfolly.com\/?p=565","title":{"rendered":"Been Adirondack camping the last several days"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Brigid and I car camped with our great friend Laurie (from Vermont &#8211; had not seen her in years!) at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dec.ny.gov\/outdoor\/24488.html\">Paradox Lake Campground<\/a> near the town of<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Schroon,_New_York\"> Schroon Lak<\/a>e (The<strong> h<\/strong> is silent). No internet or cell service in the campsite &#8211; and spotty in many other places. Made it almost feel like1983&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here are three pictures &#8211; the first from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.alltrails.com\/trail\/us\/new-york\/severence-mountain\">Mt. Severence<\/a>. That is Laurie in the foreground.&nbsp; Mt. Severance tops out at 1,693 feet, which is where the picture is taken from. Relatively recent micro-brewery which looks to be quite popular.
