Awesome.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This fresco is by the great<a href=\"https:\/\/www.wikiart.org\/en\/fra-angelico\/all-works#!#filterName:all-paintings-chronologically,resultType:masonry\"> Fra Angelico<\/a>, painted around 1441 and is titled<em> Saint Dominic Adoring the Crucifixion<\/em>. Yes Fra Angelico knew that St. Dominic &#8211; born in 1170 &#8211; was not at the crucifixion. But you get the message. The fresco is at the Convent of San Marco in Florence which is now a museum. In the summer of 1981 Brigid and I were at San Marco, but I have no recollection of seeing this fresco.
