Clinton Blames Her Loss on White Women Listening to Husbands
Good heavens! The implication – white women are stupid!? Sounds like a Saturday Night Live skit. Can't you just go away…

Interesting story – 68 year old woman joins the Jesuit Volunteer Corps.
From the Jesuit magazine America. A little excerpt but worth hitting the link. I joined the Jesuit Volunteer Elder Corps at 68—and never looked back. When the acceptance letter arrived, I was elated. But doubts were close behind. Would I be able to give up my antiques, the moon on Lake Michigan, the symphony? I…

Oscar Romero will be canonized; miracle approved by Pope Francis
Romero, Archbishop of San Salvador, murdered in March, 1980 for speaking out for the poor and against the injustice of the Salvadoran Government. A true martyr. Will be interesting to find out the miracle attributed to him. The picture is of him in 1941, at the age of 24.

Shot put: Tim Faranda & Rickssen Oponte

The day he dies, the NY Times explains Billy Graham’s “missed opportunities”
The man's body is still warm but the NYT has to give an opinion on his failings. The author is an emeritus professor at the University of California, Berkley. No doubt this column has been ready to go for a while. Says more about the NY Times than about Billy Graham. Billy Graham’s Missed Opportunities…

League President Bill Donohue comments – REV. BILLY GRAHAM, R.I.P. Bill Donohue comments on the death of Rev. Billy Graham: Growing up Catholic in New York in the 1950s, the Catholic we most identified with was Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen, the first televangelist. The Protestant we most clearly revered was Rev. Billy Graham. In both…

I met Brigid 40 years ago today
The greatest day of her my life. No pictures from that day – we met at a party I was having at my flat in Mandeville, Jamaica. I had seen her a couple of times around town. Here’s Brigid about a year later, and several months before we got married, at a place called “Lover’s…
