Health update and results of my fitness test
Regarding my low white blood cell count, I spoke with Dr. Kewalramani on Friday. He told me to be sure to set up an appointment with Dr. Zelenetz, my lymphoma guru (Dr. K was the transplant physician so the baton gets passed back to Dr. Zelenetz). Dr. K is not too worried about the blood…

Health update – CBC results
Well, no change from two weeks ago. the white blood count is 2.0. I will no doubt get a call from Dr. Kewalramani in the next day or two. I haven’t mentioned this, but all the post-chemo symptoms that had been a bit bothersome – the cracked and nails with ridges, and the loss of…

When I began the journal, it was primarily to record my odyssey through treatment and chemotherapy for my lymhoma.…

Update to yesterday’s health update
Dr. Kewalramani called me today regarding my low white blood count. He made the point that it wasn’t "real low", but that we need to monitor it. I am going to have blood counts at two week intervals. If the count doesn’t go up in four to six weeks, I’ll have to have a bone…

Quick health update
Had a blood count today, and my white blood cell count continues below normal (1.9), as well as some of the component numbers being low. This is despite having the antibiotic switched from Bactrim to Mepron. Nobody seems to be able to pinpoint why the numbers are low; they have been for months and I…

Good news on chocolate!
I always suspected this. Of course if it’s true, I should be a lot smarter than I am. CNN.com – Study: Chocolate may boost brain power – May 25, 2006 After a 15-minute digestive period, participants completed a variety of computer-based neuropsychological tests designed to assess cognitive performance including memory, attention span, reaction time, and…
