I started this journal on September 8, ’05, and today is June 7th, ’06, so that’s nine months of journaling. This will be the 355th post. Sometime yesterday the 10,000th visit was made to the weblog.
When I began the journal, it was primarily to record my odyssey through treatment and chemotherapy for my lymhoma. And it still is that, even though the number of specific postings on my treatment and current health status have diminished, and the number of other postings has gone up. I suppose the postings reflect my interests, thoughts, and opinions, and perhaps reflect my state of mind(?!?), which all can be considered part of the "odyssey."
About the only things I haven’t touched on are sex (much to Brigid’s relief, no doubt) and my work (a desire to not have the journal appear as an advert for my services).
Otherwise I’ve named names of friends and supporters (Without doubt the best part of writing the journal. The amount of support my family and I have received has been unbelievably gratifying.), put up dumb jokes, made inane comments, and posted articles, many of which only I would be interested in. To say nothing of my "latest read" efforts.
And I have greatly appreciated the many people with lymphoma who contacted me, mostly by email. Following their stories has been enlightening and a great help. Tomorrow I am going to write about one person who I’ve already written about, and who I met with last October.
