FULL DISCLOSURE – I know a fair bit about reefs – having lived in Grand Cayman and done lots of diving. Sad to see these dead reefs – but they are resilient – they do come back. On a recent program with Richard Attenborough about the Australia Great Barrier Reef the point was made that their reef has disappeared and regenerated at least once and maybe three times in the last 20,000 years. Aboriginal Australians living along the coast have the rise and fall of sea levels, and their need to migrate, in their folklore and music.
