How big are collegiate shot put athletes?

Pretty big. Tim is 5’9″ and a wide body – here he is with Rickssen Opont, his STAC (St. Thomas Aquinas College) shot put teammate. Tim is a good shot putter, but Rickssen is one of the best collegiate throwers in the Country! In fact this past summer Rickssen (who is a great kid) represented Haiti in the Caribbean Championships and came 8th overall. The men ahead of him were mostly on the professional track and field circuit. Pretty awesome for a college senior. The pictures are from the STAC track and field awards dinner Sunday night.
