Salvatore Joseph Vasta, Jr. of Croton-on-Hudson, NY passed away on Veterans Day, November 11, 2017, at the age 89. He was born on August 29, 1928 to the late Salvatore and Maria (nee Sgroi), who both emigrated from Sicily, Italy. Salvatore had tremendous faith in God and a love of his country that was never ending. In 1951, he married the love of his life Patricia (nee Quinn) and together they raised nine children. He was honored to be a Seaman in the United States Navy (USSS Fred T. Berry) and served during WWII. He was a master mason for most of his adult life and built the "foundations" for many families in Croton-on-Hudson, where he was a life-long resident.
