10 Senate Dems join Republicans to pass government spending bill

Schumer was right – they would have been blamed for shutting down the government. The final vote was 62-38. Formal vote later tonight. Other Democrats are "outraged". 

Schumer has defended his decision by arguing that a shutdown is a political loser for Democrats that would further embolden the Elon Musk–run Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) and empower the administration to pick and choose which federal agency services are nonessential.
