Neat. At the University of Miami Hurricanes Invitational Meet this past Saturday. Tim was at two Florida meets with his school (STAC) over the winter break. Since he was red-shirted last year as a freshman, this was the first outdoor meet he competed in – having thrown the shot put in the indoor season.

He went 159′ on his first throw, breaking the school record by 20 feet. Overall he came a respectable fifth in the meet. He was annoyed that a number of the southern schools competing have been able to throw outdoors while this was just about the first time he threw in months. You can’t do javelin in the snow…

    We need that fiery snow plow to melt the snow on Tim’s practice field so he can throw the javelin in the winter.

    The Yankees could use him in the outfield this year to spear any Met runners coming around third base trying to score.

    Only 164 feet & 1 inch to go to equal the world record in the next summer Olympics in Tokyo in 2020. He has over 3 years to build up to it. He should do it in small increments. Remember the famous latin motto: “Nullis Facit Saltus”.
    Translation: No one builds by sudden jumps.
