Last Friday. Tim made the finals at #7 (of eight; they started with 19 throwers). And then the #8 seed hit a good throw so Tim was in 8th place and out of point scoring for his college. Below is his last throw, which pushed him into 6th place (40’2″) and got St. Thomas Aquinas College (STAC) one point. I let the video run and you can see them measuring the throw with a laser.
Ultimately STAC came second place out of eight colleges. For Tim, getting 6th place is quite decent; the shot is not his best event; he’s looking forward to the outdoor season and throwing the javelin. Below is a picture of Tim and the other four throwers (two on the girls team, duh) at STAC. I told them we’d do a smiling picture and then a tough looking picture. The one below is not the smiling one!
