He was 90. Not the greatest catcher from his neighborhood (Yogi Berra lived across the street) but otherwise very talented. He didn’t retire until 3 years ago.
HIs son, Joe Jr., was a year ahead of me at Stepinac HS, and played goalie on the soccer team.
