Today is Brigid’s birthday

HA! She asked me for an omelette pan, which I’m happy to get her (got two actually) since I like omelettes.

Past history on gifts to Brigid:

When we were both living in Jamaica (which is where I met Brigid – we were both teaching in different schools in Mandeville, JA), I went off the Island in the summer of ’78 (we met February 17th, 1978, at a party at my house {that she crashed} although I’d seen her around town prior to this and asked about her {was told she had a boyfriend at the bottom of Shooter’s HIll, which turned out to not be true [I think]}.

Anyway, I wrote her over the summer (1978 – before email) and asked what I could bring back for her. She wrote back asking me for a “wok” – which I had no idea what it was – and not to buy a junky or cheap wok but a really good, high quality one. So I got some advice and brought back a really, really, good one.

And it worked out very well for me – Brigid still uses it and it woks up great food!
