Ugh, the last game of the regular season, by 23-28 against Iona Prep.
It was really an excellent game with good play by both teams. Stepinac had their chances to win – had the ball on Iona's 15 yard line with three minutes to play but couldn't get it in.
Tim said the locker room was very disappointed place (naturally) after the lose. He said there'd been a lot of trash talk online between the teams before the game, as well as in the game. In fact, there was some trash tlak in the stands, from one particular Iona supporter, who had some relative (son?) playing. Pretty ridiculous, really.
The playoff's start next Saturday, and Stepinac will probably still be the #1 seed, with their 7-1 regular season record.
Here's Tim making a tackle on kickoff coverage. The Iona player returning the kick was probably their best player, a wide receiver and linebacker on defense. The Iona QB was also a good player – 6'6", and an excellent arm.
