As in personal best, or personal record. It’s been a good seven days. Last week he hit a new best on the bench press at 250, then did a PB with the 12 lb shot put of 32’11” at a meet in Beacon, NY. And the next day squatted 335 lbs – another PB.
On Saturday he went to a Nike/Sparq combine on Randall’s Island. It is similar to the NFL combine, although only four tests. It’s for boys who think they’d like to play football after high school. Mostly juniors take part, but Tim came 47th out of 147 freshman who were there.
This Tuesday he WON the Jr. Novice Championship (freshman & sophomores!) in the javelin at Icahn Stadium on Randall’s. He had a throw of 120.5 ft. He was also a finalist in the shot put, with another PB of 33′, but didn’t medal. The rest of this week he has meets today, Friday and Saturday.
Here’s a long shot of Tim with his friend Liam (a pole vaulter and football player) in Beacon, and below that is the faithful Brigid, watching as the schools get ready for a series of relays.
