Whew. Koonce had a knee injury just before the season began and it’s now been determined he will have surgery. This is his 4th season – end of his contract and he would be hoping to have a great year and then get a big contract from the Raiders or someone else.
He had eight sacks last year in the last nine games, including three in one game on Mahomes when the Raiders beat Kansas City. According to this, if he had a similar good year, he’d be in the 12 to 14 million a year contract area.
