The Madden ’09 “Super Bowl Simulator” nailed the Super Bowl result almost perfectly

Well I guess there's something to those video games. I posted about this the day before the Super Bowl here –

Tom Faranda's Folly: Tomorrow's Super Bowl

and this was the prediction:

According to the award-winning video game, the Pittsburgh Steelers will win an unprecedented sixth Super Bowl title in a tightly contested game against the Arizona Cardinals, by a final score of 28-24. Holding off a fourth-quarter comeback by the Cardinals …

That's very, very close to what happened, with the Cardinal's rallying to score 16 points in the last seven minutes, before the Steelers scored a TD with 35 seconds to go in the game. Final score: Steelers win, 27-23.
