Was yesterday. A very good win against Greenburgh, a team they lost to last year. This is Tim’s second year at the fifth and sixth grade little league level.
The score was only 7-0, but Ossining really dominated. Greenburgh never crossed midfield. Tim had about five tackles from defensive end and tackle, and pushed around his opposite number when playing offensive tackle. The only reason Ossining didn’t score more points – they stopped themselves with three interceptions, and missed a field goal.
Pregame get together – the home games are played at Ryder Park in Ossining. Very damp.

Here’s a picture of the play where Ossining scored their touchdown. It’s just dumb luck that I took this. The play was a halfback option pass (they really do these sort of plays at the 5th/6th grade level) and you can see the receiver running his pattern to the left of the picture. Tim is to the middle right of the picture, barely visible as he shoves the defender back about five yards!

And then there’s this – the required post-touchdown end zone celebration… funny

While the hot shots in the end zone are celebrating, the grunts, including Tim (almost right in the middle) head for the sideline

Postgame, and everyone is pleased … Tim is #70

So, my Saturday mornings for the next two months are set!
