Tim – baseball is finished – on to football!

Here’s Tim at bat in his last summer league baseball game on August 19th.

And now … it’s on to football season.

Tim at 11 years old, is just over 5 feet tall and weighs 145 lbs! He is too heavy and we have a deal where he’s going to try and get down to 134 by October 20th – and even then he’ll still be too heavy. 145 is more then I weighed as a freshman in college. In fact I can recall weighing myself before I played my last match for the Met NY select side (I was 35, so it was 22 years ago) and I weighed 146.

Anyway, here is Tim this past Sunday at his preseason scrimmage.

His number this year is 70, which was Sam Huff’s number (remember him)?

Try and find #70 –

In between scrimmaging sessions. Everything was held on the Ossining HS football field, with about six towns involved.

Tim is a master of sartorial elegance on the football field. The white pads sticking out are hip pads – but I don’t think he’s quite got them right. They look more like loose kidney pads the way he has them on.

Tim looked pretty good in the scrimmage, depite having a cold or some sort of allergy or asthma attack. He has a little asthma-like problem occasionally. Yesterday the pediatrician put him back on an inhaler. After the scrimmage Tim’s head coach told him “Tim, no comment…  No one can stop you.”

The season runs Saturday mornings for the next eight weeks (with one bye) and then playoffs.
