My congressional candidate Kieran Lalor launches an energy solutions website

Kieran Lalor is the Republican candidate running against former rock star and current Democratic Congressman John Hall (go here for a cute picture of Hall long ago, with his band Orleans John Hall (US politician) – Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia ).

I have written about Lalor before; he is a former history teacher, Iraqi marine veteran, and law school graduate. I am supporting the guy (despite the lawyer thing); I don’t agree with all his positions, but I disagree with just about everything Hall stands for …

Anyway, Lalor yesterday launched a website totally devoted to addressing the energy crisis. I had a look and it’s a work in progress, but lays out what I’m sure will be the gist of his positions.

Energy Security 2008

I totally agree with the lead sentences of his first two paragraphs:

For too many years, America’s approach to energy policy has been rooted in pure complacency….

and

This year, America is seeing the terrible results of decades of foolish policies….

Hit the link above for an outline of Lalor’s solutions.

As a friend of mine mentioned a few days ago “Just wait until the winter and we’re paying $6 a gallon for home heating oil.”
