More on Tim Russert’s death

I posted yesterday, which included a link to Tom Brokaw's announcement …Tom Faranda's Folly: Tim Russert

Here's the up to date report on his death, as well as tributes –

Journalist Revitalized Washington Talk Shows

Russert's internist, Michael A. Newman, told MSNBC that an autopsy showed the journalist had an enlarged heart and that cholesterol plaque ruptured an artery, causing coronary thrombosis. He said Russert had been diagnosed earlier with coronary artery disease, but that it was controlled with medication and exercise and Russert had performed well on a stress test in late April.

Rush Limbaugh almost never interviews anyone, but he broke hi own rule in 2004, and had Russert on his show when Russert was promoting his book about "Big Russ", his father. Russert and Limbaugh were friends.

 Here is Limbaughs statement:

"It's just a shame. Tim was a regular guy with that perpetual smile he wore naturally all the time. He loved life and got everything he could out of it. Whether it was at dinner here in Florida while his son was taking golf lessons, or on the set of Meet The Press, Tim was always the same with me: genuine. He never condescended to anyone and was the consummate professional. He will be hard to replace. He was the closest thing there was at any of the networks to an objective journalist."
