Tim has his breakout baseball game

This is Tim’s first year in the Croton Little League “major league”, where 5th, 6th, and 7th graders all play on the same team.

I always bring a camera to the boys sports events – except last night (Rats!). So down below I posted two old pictures from an earlier game, as he patrols right field and takes his batting stance (I must say, from the angle you see him the the pictures, he always reminds me of the old Chicago defensive tackle, William “the refrigerator” Perry.).

Tim had two good defensive plays in right field – the first a real gem in the third inning, as he made a shoestring catch of a line drive while going to his right. Then in the fifth inning he caught a long fly ball, while running to his left. It’s rare in little league to see an outfielder make any clean catches in a game, and Tim had two.

He also got on base twice on a walk and an RBI single, scoring both times he got on.

AND he had his first pitching stint, coming in to get the last out of the game. His pitching was a lttile shaky, with the last out coming with a runner thrown out at the plate. But he did mostly throw strikes.

His team, Franzoso Contracting won 13-6 over Croton Police, and Tim got the game ball.

So a good evening for Tim; a big confidence booster.
