We were at the game courtesy of our winning a drawing at the Business Council of Westchester “Mega Mixer,” which I talked about here. Tom Faranda’s Folly: Westchester Business Council Mega-Mixer sends Farandas to Yankee Stadium
I knew we would be in the upper deck, down the left field line, but didn’t realize that the “x” row was literally the last row in the Stadium!
Here’s Tim, and several views from where we were initially seated. You can look down onto the Bronx buildings.

That yellow thingie in the middle of the picture is actually the left field foul pole. And I realized we were seated 35 to 40 feet higher then the top of the pole!
No complaints though – any view in Yankee Stadium is great (I’m biased) and in any case after a couple of innings we moved down a whole section.
And the atmosphere at the Stadium is always great. Here’s an amusing series of picture of people reacting in front of us when the mobile camera guy came around – and your live video picture can suddenly show up on the Stadium Diamond Vision screen. The cameraman is right in the middle of the pictures –

Here’s Alex Rodriquez at bat in the sixth. Note his signature look – his pants tucked into his black socks. With men on second and third he struck out. But Jason Giambi then hit a sacrifice fly to tie the game at 2-2.

in the eighth inning Joba Chamberlain pitched, with fastballs at 97 and 98 mph. In the bottom of the inning the Yanks managed the go-ahead run (despite Rodriquez striking out again with men in scoring position!) and Mariano Rivera finished up the ninth to get the save. so joba got the win!
The new Stadium is really coming along and our quick view of it – well it looks gorgeous. Too bad I didn’t get a picture. As anyone who follows baseball knows, the current Stadium will be torn down at the end of this season. You can do a group tour of the Stadium any day of the week, and beside catching another game or two, I think I might bring the family down for the tour.
Here’s the one picture Tim took tonight – a picture of me on our way down to the game. We’d stopped at a Rally – more on that later –
