March for Life yesterday

As we always do (exception: when I’m hospitalized for chemotherapy! Then it’s a threesome.) the four of us were at the March in Washington yesterday. Helped to organize two buses with 89 participants; about half were Jr high school or high school students.

Joe took this picture looking back down Constitution Ave, where the Avenue rises. A proverbial “sea of people”.

Here’s a website with information on the coverage in the local Gannett Journal News, Washington Post, and non-coverage by the NY Times. I thought the Journal News and WaPo coverage was very fair; however the best the NYT “paper of record” could do was put an Associated Press report up on their website. Amazing. Tens of thousands of people rally in Washington, and no coverage.

Here are two last pictures:

The banner that leads the March up Constitution Ave and to the Supreme Court

And the mostly women with a few men who are right behnid the banner; Silent no More. People who’ve had abortions – or pressured women into aborting, and who now are speaking out about the damage it does. Pretty courageous. The group includes a niece of Martin Luther King. We have aclose friend very active with Silent no More, who also does post-abortive counseling.

If you look very closely at this picture, to the far left is a Franciscan priest carrying a sign saying “I regret lost Fatherhood”.
