Christmas 2007, part 2

Here are some pix from yesterday.

6:15 in the morning and the boys are up to check out their gifts. Paintball stuff was at the fore. Tim got a new paintball gun marker and Joe a laser sight.

I received, from Joe, some “Ting.” Ting is a grapefruit drink from Jamaica which I developed a liking for when I lived there.  Very tasty and very difficult to find in the U.S. Joe came across it in the Bronx, and that was his gift to me.

Then onto Church, where we went to 10:45am Mass. It seems that now with Christmas Eve Mass at 5pm and 10pm, as well as midnight Mass, the attendance at the morning Masses is not the mob scene it used to be. But still pretty good attendance.

Here’s our pastor Fr. mike giving his homily. He has brought up the smaller children and is reading to them from a Christmas book. 10:45 is the official “family Mass” so this happens fairly frrequently. Tim is an altar boy server – can you spot him?

Back to the house with Grandma. i already posted this picture yesterday, but I like it so here it is again.

later in the day we finally got around to unwrapping Brigid’s kayak, which she got for her birthday on December 12th. It actually didn’t arrive until the 21st and had been sitting in the garage.

On to an early dinner of lamb, with Tim doing some carving. Brigid is the usual carver – I am hopeless at it.

Back to the morning and our tree. Even though the boys are a bit older, they still get a charge out of Christmas (but let’s face it; only the Grinch doesn’t).
