At last (for Tim), after six weeks his cast is off. Dr. Purcell cut it off today (three hours late) and we celebrated with alaskan king crab for supper. And tomorrow Tim gets new shoes (part of the deal.)
Here’s the foot, the cast, and the crab dinner (it was excellent!).

Here’s the “back” part of the cast

And the front section, commplete with friendly autographs, that was cut off so Tim could slip his foot out.

Tim decided he likes king crab.

The ankle is tender and Tim is still hopping around a bit. In fact the Dr. said he may want to continue using one or two crutches for a few more days. It will be about four weeks before he can really start to go full speed, which knocks out most of his baseball season. But summer stuff will be fine, and there’s always fall little league football season.
It’s interesting that the thing Tim most wanted to do today, was go visit his cousins. But the day was too far along before we could get our act together for that. Probably tomorrow.
Uncle Phil and Aunt Ann, be warned!
