Well, the season is coming to a close. There is loads of enthusiasm in the St. Augustine’s fourth grade boys team. There are 14 players and hardly any of them ever miss a game. This is despite lossing nine of their first ten games.
Now though, the enthusiasm is paying off as they’ve won their last four games and are in the semi-finals of the season-ending tournament.
The tournament is being played in Port Chester and tonite St. Augustine’s won, 24-16. Pretty good since they trailed 2-6 after one quarter. Tim usually plays center in the first and third quarters, and in this game he scored two quick baskets at the beginning of the third quarter, as his team went from down 10-12 to up 14-12, and never looked back.
The improvement in play by all the boys in the past ten weeks has been quite noticeable; which is perhaps what’s to be expected in nine and ten year olds.
