Tim our fourth grader got two deficiencies at the midpoint in this marking period, in social studies and religion. Slightly odd subjects to be deficient in, but there you go.
Today he came home with a religion test, where he’d gotten a 66. It was on the Ten Commandments.
Here’s one of the questions, and Tim’s answer:
(Q) Why is it wrong to take the Lord’s name in vain?
(A) Because he is on the cross and if you say "Jesus Christ" the nails will go in further.
Presumably the answer is "Because it’s a sin against the third commandment", because it was marked with a big X.
But it’s a great answer for a fourth grader – I would have given him extra credit.
