This past weekend a friend of mine, Patricia Lent (Tish or Tisha) got married to Owen O’Sullivan, in the Bronx.
I hadn’t seen Tisha in months, since I met up with her and a couple of other friends in lower Manhattan for lunch. Tom Faranda’s Folly: Lunch with three ne’er do wells, or the 4 T’s luncheon
We all either worked or had office space with my marketing group at 1114 Ave of the Americas (the old Grace Building). Tish was an administrative type on staff there, about eleven years ago. A very personable woman and quite the comedienne!
I haven’t been to many weddings lately (must be my age) and this one was great! I didn’t know Tisha’s now-husband, but all of her friends had given me good reports on Owen, and Tish was in fine form.
We got to the Church late (right before the consecration) and it was filled with all sorts of Irish-looking people. And the priest had an amusing comment at the end as he said “I perform a lot of weddings here, and it’s not very often that we have a church full of people who go to communion and know the responses.” The Wedding was at St. Benedict’s and the reception at the Marina Del Rey.
Here’s a few pix:

After the formal on the steps photos, Brigid got this one, as Tish shows her true colors –

This is Denise Thacke, one of Tish’s very close friends –

This is Ryan and Michael Thacke, Denise’s nephews –

And their Mom, Rosanna!

Steve and Brigette Apostolakos. Brigette is a friend of Tish’s and was a model before she became a Mom!

Being Irish and in the Bronx, there are plenty of policemen in the extended family. Kevin Thacke is a detective in the NYPD and he’s here with Sandy –

The Lents are big on pointing – the second picture is of two of Tish’s four sisters, Michelle with the microphone (she is also in the NYPD) and Judy. Michelle had some nice things to say about her sister and new brother-in-law, and then Judy sang them a song – quite beautifully.

But Tish’s nephew Richard couldn’t keep up the pace –

Good luck Tish and Owen!
